Activ8 is a group for 10-14 year olds (school years 6-10). The evening includes a variety of great activities, refreshments and a tuck shop. In the summer term we tend to go out more for games in the park, photo challenges and wide games to name but a few! Every evening we give time to look at the Bible and how it relates to the lives of young people in the world today.
When? Tuesday evenings during term time, 7:15pm-9:00pm.
Tiny Treasures is a group for pre-school children and their parents, grandparents or carers. There is a wide selection of toys and activities for the children, as well as a fortnightly organised (and supervised!) craft. Refreshments are served throughout with drinks and snacks for the little people plus tea, coffee and biscuits for the grown-ups! The morning finishes with a Bible story and singing.
When? Wednesday mornings during term time, 10am-11:30am.
Student Group is a chance for the students of the church to get together, have a meal and a chat, then study the Bible and pray in small groups. It’s a great way to catch up and chill out together in the middle of a busy week.
When? Wednesday evening during university term time, 7:30pm for food, finishing up at 9:30pm.
Lunch and Listen is on the third Friday of every month.
Come along for a delicious hot lunch and an interesting talk, all in good company!
YPF is a friendly group for young people between the ages of 14 and 18 (school years 10-13).
We usually meet on Saturday nights at the church from 7:30pm to 10pm during normal school term times. Every third week we have a relaxed Friday evening drop in at the home of one of the leaders. We also go away as a group for the occasional weekend, and last year we spent a week together in Wales during the summer holidays. It was brilliant! Most weeks we run fun activities which can include, silly games and cooking and eating food. We also have talks, discussions and studies to try to understand the good news of the Bible and to see what that means for our everyday lives.
Most Sunday nights after the evening service, there is an opportunity for the YPF to get together informally at someone's house.
For those new to the Big Weekend, or have had such a jam packed year you’ve forgotten all that happened last February, the aim of our gathering is to be taught from God’s Word and share a time of fellowship, strengthening relationships and making new ones.
The year’s teaching on the weekend will be brought to use from Paul Mayo, director of Oak Hall Holidays, a company based at Otford Manor. Paul will be giving us an overview of the book of Isaiah and helping us see the relevance of its message today. We’ll be hearing from Paul over three sessions, across the weekend. There will also be the opportunity to attend a range of practical seminars, these will likely include a Bible Overview to help show how the lessons from Isaiah fit into the rest of Scripture. There will also be a seminar specifically for recent graduates with teaching on navigating the world of work and managing expectations once out of the student bubble. A final seminar is yet TBC.
Even with a jam-packed teaching programme, there will be the opportunity to share in times of fellowship - whether that be in the local village tea shop, a walk across the Kent countryside, or playing a game of table tennis!.
The venue is the beautiful Otford Manor in Kent (home of Oak Hall holidays), costing the bargain price of £85 or, with an early bird discount, £80 if booked before the 22nd December.
Details of how to pay for the weekend will be emailed to you once your booking form has been submitted. Please note that this is not an automatically generated email so please be patient.
