Student Group is a chance for the students of the church to get together, have a meal and a chat, then study the Bible and pray in small groups. It’s a great way to catch up and chill out together in the middle of a busy week.
When? Wednesday evening during university term time, 7:30pm for food, finishing up at 9:30pm.
YPF is a friendly group for young people between the ages of 14 and 18 (school years 10-13).
We usually meet on Saturday nights at the church from 7:30pm to 10pm during normal school term times. Every third week we have a relaxed Friday evening drop in at the home of one of the leaders. We also go away as a group for the occasional weekend, and last year we spent a week together in Wales during the summer holidays. It was brilliant! Most weeks we run fun activities which can include, silly games and cooking and eating food. We also have talks, discussions and studies to try to understand the good news of the Bible and to see what that means for our everyday lives.
Most Sunday nights after the evening service, there is an opportunity for the YPF to get together informally at someone's house.
A weekly Bible Study group for women. We meet at 10am for tea or coffee and a chat and then split into smaller groups at 10:30 for a Bible study and prayer time. Whether we work our way through a book of the Bible, looking at a particular topic or hearing about the experiences of different people, it’s a great opportunity to encourage and get to know each other better.
When? Tuesday mornings during term time, 10am-11:30am. Crèche provided.
Tuesday Club is a group for kids in school years 1-6. The evening includes great activities, a story from the Bible and free refreshments at the end.
Tea and coffee are provided upstairs for the parents to stay and chat during Tuesday Club.
When? Tuesday evenings during term time, 6pm-7:15pm.
Activ8 is a group for 10-14 year olds (school years 6-10). The evening includes a variety of great activities, refreshments and a tuck shop. In the summer term we tend to go out more for games in the park, photo challenges and wide games to name but a few! Every evening we give time to look at the Bible and how it relates to the lives of young people in the world today.
When? Tuesday evenings during term time, 7:15pm-9:00pm.
Tiny Treasures is a group for pre-school children and their parents, grandparents or carers. There is a wide selection of toys and activities for the children, as well as a fortnightly organised (and supervised!) craft. Refreshments are served throughout with drinks and snacks for the little people plus tea, coffee and biscuits for the grown-ups! The morning finishes with a Bible story and singing.
When? Wednesday mornings during term time, 10am-11:30am.
Jungle Explorers is four mornings of fun for children in school years 1 to 6. It's completely free and children are welcome for all four mornings or just one. All four is much better! It allows children to be part of a club and to enjoy good, fun activities during the Easter holidays.
Who runs it?
The week is organised by Grace Church Guildford. We have been running children's Easter clubs for over 35 years. We really enjoy this opportunity to be involved with the local community and to tell children about Jesus. Leaders are committed Christians and have been cleared by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) for child protection purposes. There are qualified first-aiders on hand at all times.
What happens there?
There will be all sorts of games, quizzes, Bible stories, drama, art & craft, music, singing and more!
When and where?
Tuesday 9th to Friday 12th of April 2019 at Grace Church Guildford in Chertsey Street (GU1 4HL) from 9:30am to 12:30pm each morning.
Fun for all the family!
On the Friday evening there will be a special party for the whole family. The children will sing some of the songs they've learned and you’ll get an idea of what went on each morning. We also hope to have a movie of the week's highlights and there'll be some activities, some food and a short talk.
